The following is the translation of the meeting report of the Lumpini Stadium board meeting on November 10, 2008, at the Army Club, Bangkok, which was hosted by the new stadium chief Major General Chalermkiat Photongnak and attended by Lumpini promoters. All units and individuals associated with the stadium will implement the following tasks and duties which were agreed upon by the meeting attendees. 1.More concrete action to support the training camps and fighters to survive the current economic conditions will be encouraged. A seminar will be held for the camp managers to inform them of the stadium rules, relevant laws, and appropriate payments to the fighters as well as to allow the managers to speak out on their problems. 2.Stadium operations that are related to income and benefits must be in according to the stated goals. Contracts related to rights and benefits must be done with prudence and must be considered by the rights and benefits committee of the stadium. 3.The stadium will build good relationship with other stadiums as well as providing corporation in all aspects that will help each stadium, promote the muaythai arts, or benefit the muaythai fans. 4.The Lumpini champions can fight at another stadium only in according to the regulations of 1999, which allows such champions to fight at Lumpini or at a makeshift stadium, but only for a world title match, and only with Lumpini judges and observers. 5.When a fighter was dismissed from the stage for refusing to fight, the managers and promoters would discuss on the case and the causes of such act. The stadium will aggressively combat such frauds by assigning officials to supervise and control the weighing of the fighters as well as forming an information center on muaythai frauds. 6.Modern medical equipments will be provided for emergency treatment of the spectators to build up confidence of the fans. Such equipments will be bought with funds in according to the budget or by earnings from charity events. 7.The technical delegates will consider on improving the rules to allow the fights to be exciting and fun, while the judges will maintain accuracy in their decisions. 8.Publicity will be increased with a web board provided in the stadium website. The publicity personnel will promote the campaign to allow youth and low-ranked officers to watch the games on Saturday afternoons for free. 9.The schedule allotment for the promoters will be decided based on the evaluation of the promoters. An event must sell a ticket at a minimum price of 230 Baht. A sick fighter who is not able to fight must be presented in the ring, but the decision to allow the sick fighter to be replaced will be exclusive to the medical team of the stadium. Failures to do so will affect the evaluation results. 10.The “Lumpini Champion Krirkkrai” event will be held every three months at the last month of each quarter, starting from 2009. Allotments to promoters will be divided in quarters, each with three months. The ranking committee will assist in matching the fighters with a focus on pairing fighters from different training camps as well as what the muaythai fans and the media want. 11.Top fighters of Lumpini Stadium with a rate of 30,000 Baht or more must receive a prior approval from the stadium before fighting in broadcasted matches or matches held at another stadium. Such matches must be appropriate and not put Lumpini fighters in a disadvantaged situation. 12.Unity and good relationship of the promoters will be promoted. A seminar will be held to gather ideas on how the promoters can cooperate with each others while complying with the stadium policies. 13.The heavyweight fights will be promoted with at least on match of the fighters with weights over 130 pounds held in each event. 14.The bans on certain fighters due to unresolved disputed will be maintained, but a new decision may be given if the parties can agree on the payments. 15.The facility will be improved with a focus on safety and convenience of the muaythai fans as well as the stadium employees.
