No problem, Thai vest boxers were granted the right after AIBA has approved 9 members of the working group sent by SAT and Olympic Thai. I also approved sportsmen-officers to participate the competition. The first program will be World Championship in Azerbaijan on 28 September. “Big Nhum” revealed that he was hurry to discuss with “Rongmontri”, the chairperson of working group, to apply for membership and elect for a new president within the deadline, 21 August 2011.
However, SAT’s working did not send its representative to attend the meeting but it submitted a 15 minutes video presentation explaining the role of such working group to AIBA. Lately, “Big Nhum”, Mr.Kanokphan Julakaseam, the chief of SAT revealed that AIBA has sent the document to Olympic Commission of Thailand and SAT informing that the association has approved 9 members of working group proposed by Olympic Thai commission and SAT. Mr.Montri Chaiyaphan, deputy chief executive of SAT is a chairman of this group. This working group is allowed to send sportsmen and officers to international competitions approved by AIBA.
Start with “AIBA World Championship 2011” on 28 September – 10 October 2011 in Azerbaijan, the first qualification match that chooses boxers for Olympic Games 2012. Thai team has previously applied for the competition in 8 series. The name list will be submitted by 25 August. “AIBA has officially approved this special working group already. At the same time, AIBA requested the working group to establish proper amateur boxing association of Thailand as soon as possible in order to apply for AIBA membership.” “I have talked with Rongmontri, we will push on this. We will announce about subscription before the meeting to elect a new association president and association executive committee within 21 August.
