Thailand's amateur boxing chief General Taweep Jantararoj is again claiming that a certain figure has been lobbying International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) President Wu Ching-Kuo to act against him.

 According to him, the unnamed enemy, who is also a Thai citizen, wanted him removed from AIBA, and subsequently, the Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand (ABAT).

Those with some knowledge of Thailand’s amateur boxing can probably guess who the ABAT chief is talking about. With a long history of rivalry and prestigious positions at stake, neither of the two is willing to give up to the other.

Gen. Taweep was particularly attacked by the AIBA for his criticisms on the neutrality of AIBA’s judges and officials at the Beijing Games in 2008. The AIBA launched an investigation into the case in November last year, but decided to postpone the consideration of the case to February 2009.

However, the association changed its decision and hastened the process to punish Gen. Taweep to the end of 2008. Some pointed out the rush was due to fear of Gen. Taweep getting re-elected for another term as ABAT president in early 2009.

He did eventually get re-elected and the AIBA’s efforts to have him removed seem to yield no effects yet. But even if Gen. Taweep was booted out from AIBA, he would still hold the helm of the ASEAN boxing association.

It is not clear how the situation would play out, but the general is obviously upset and has declared that he will not allow anyone to remove him from his posts.

'ไอ้โม่ง' มาอีกแล้ว

กลายเป็นประเด็นร้อนที่คอมวยเสื้อกล้ามต้องจับกลุ่มวิพากษ์วิจารณ์กันด้วยความสงสัย

เพราะจู่ๆ "เสธ.วีป" พล.อ.ทวีป จันทรโรจน์ ก็ออกอาการ "น็อตหลุด"  ออกมาแฉว่ามี "ไอ้โมง" คนไทยด้วยกันเองอยู่เบื้องหลังค่อย "เสี้ยม" ให้ตนกับ มร. ชิง โคว วู  ประธานสหพันธ์มวยนานาชาติ หรือ ไอบา ต้องมีอันต้องแยกทางกันเดินให้ได้

โดยมีเป้าหมายที่อยู่ที่การโค่นบัลลังก์ให้ตนพ้นจากเก้าอีนายกสมาคมเสื้อกล้ามไทยให้จนได้

อย่างที่ไม่คำนึงว่าจะทำให้ชื่อเสียงของประเทศชาติย่อยยับไปแค่ไหนก็ตาม

ส่งกล้องมองกันลึกๆ ก็พอเห็นเป็นเลาๆ ว่าใครเป็นใครและใครคือ "ไอ้โมง"  ที่นายกมวยเสื้อกล้ามไทยหมายถึง

เพราะนอกจากการไม่กินเส้น ขบเหลี่ยมกันมานานแสนนานแล้ว นับวันความบาดหมางก็ยิ่งทวีความรุนแรง เพิ่มมากขึ้นทุกทีเพราะต่างก็ถือว่ามี "ดีกรี" ในระดับโลกที่ไม่ได้ยิ่งหย่อนไปกว่ากันเท่าใดนัก

รื้อประเด็นที่นายกมวย ไปเปิดปากวิจารณ์การแข่งขันมวยเสื้อกล้ามในโอลิมปิกจนมีการตั้งคณะกรรมการสอบสวนไปเมื่อเดือนพฤศจิกายน ปี2551 แต่ก็ยังไม่อาจสรุปผลกันได้เลยตกันได้ เลยตกลงว่าจะเลื่อนกันไปพิจารณากับอีกหนในการประชุมใหญ่เดือน กุมภาพันธ์ ปี2552

แต่แล้วจู่ๆ กลับประกาศผลพิจารณากันออกมาตอนเดือนพฤศจิกายนเสียดื้อๆ

เหมือนกับจะรู้ว่าหากไปพิจารณากันตอนเดือนกุมภาพันธ์แล้วจะไม่ทันกำหนดการประชุมใหญ่ประจำปีเพื่อเลือกตั้งหาผู้มาดำรงตำแหน่งนายกสมาคม ที่จะมีขึ้นในเดือนมกราคม

พูดๆ ไปแล้ก็น่าคิด และเหตุผลอ้างอิงของ "เสธ. วีป" ก็ดูจะมีน้ำหนักไม่น้อยซะด้วย

กระนั้นไม่ว่าผลจะออกมาอย่างไรก็ไม่มีผลกระทบกับเก้าอี้นายกมวย เพราะแม้ "เสธ. วีป"  จะพ้นจากบอร์ดไอบ้าไปจริงๆ ก็ยังมีตำแหน่งประธานสหพันธ์มวยสากลสมัครเล่นอาเซียนให้ถ่างขาควบไว้อีกตำแหน่งอยู่แล้ว จึงไม่มีผลต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลง

ที่แน่ๆ ก็คืองานนี้ "เสธ. วีป" ฉุนขาดถึงกับประกาศให้ได้ยิรกันชัดๆ ว่าไม่ต้องมาไล่ ถ้าตนเองเบื่อเมื่อใดแล้วก็จะกระดกก้นอำลาเก้าอี้ตัวนี้ไปเอง
