WBC female super flyweight “interim” champion Usanakorn Kokietgym has finally arrived in Mexico for the match against Ana Maria Torres, the holder of the “real” title, in the Mexico City on Sunday June 14.

Thailand’s Usanakorn, who has been training hard for the past two months, is determined to win the world title from the match. She contributed her confidence to the support of her promoter Kokiet Panichayarom.

“I believe I am lucky to be with Kokiet, who is not only a good promoter and manager but is also treating me as a good brother would as well. He is generous to all his boxers equally,” she said.

“Our group is not afraid of sending boxers to fight abroad, and Kokiet is willing to give the opportunity even to boxers who return defeated. When Ratanachai Singwangcha lost in the Philippines in a foul for kicking the opponent and was condemned, Kokiet was the only person who came out to protect him. This is a low time for Ratanachai. He would have nothing else to do if he quit boxing now,” said Usanakorn.

“My bid for the world title in Mexico this time is the hope for our group, which I understand. I have been preparing myself hard and this is in fact the hardest training I have ever had, even more than the time I prepared for the interim title bout.”

“Although I would fight in Mexico, which is the other side of the world, I am not concerned of the cheering of the crowd there as I have been through a lot in both professional and amateur boxing. I won an amateur championship overseas already, and I fought in the Philippines.”

“When I am in the ring, I am not afraid of anyone. The Thai people can be sure of that.”

“Torres is one of the best world champions. Although she is 29, she is still strong. As much as I can see, she is a right-handed fighter who is 12 centimeter shorter than me. She likes to focus on launching combo of 3-4 heavy punches, but tends to stand still.”

“I have had trainer Pit Pudchuen to help planning the counter strategy, so I am confident I could knock her out within five rounds. I would return with the title belt for the honor of the Thai people,” she said.

โดยศึกชิงแชมป์สภา มวยโลกหญิง (WBC Female) รุ่นซูเปอร์ฟลายเวต เส้นนี้ จะมีขึ้นที่สังเวียน เอล เซนโตร้ บานาเม็กซ์ ในกรุงเม็กซิโกซิตี ประเทศเม็กซิโก ช่อง 7 สี ถ่ายทอดสด ตั้งแต่เวลา 10 โมงเช้า ของวันอาทิตย์ที่ 14 มิ.ย. เป็นต้นไป

หลัง ซ้อมหนัก 2 เดือนเต็มก่อนออกเดินทางจากเมืองไทย "เจ้าเน" เปิดใจถึงความมุ่งมั่นในการไปชิงแชมป์โลกครั้งนี้ กับคนสนิทว่า "เนเชื่อว่าตัวเองโชคดีฮะ ที่ได้มาอยู่ในสังกัดของพี่โก้ (ก่อเกียรติ พาณิชยารมณ์) เพราะนอกจากแกจะเป็นโปรโมเตอร์ และผู้จัดการแล้ว แกยังเปรียบเสมือนพี่ชายที่แสนดี ให้ความเอื้ออารีต่อลูกน้องทุกคนในสังกัด เทียบเท่าเหมือนกันหมด"

อุ ษณากรกล่าวเสียงเข้ม "โปรโมชั่นก่อ เกียรติฯ ของเรา กล้าส่งนักมวยออกไปชกต่างแดนอย่างจริงจัง โดยไม่กลัวนักมวยจะแพ้เสียสถิติ หากใครพลาดท่ากลับมา พี่โก้ก็ยังพร้อมจะให้โอกาสทุกคนเสมอ แม้กระทั่งเหตุการณ์ล่าสุด เมื่อครั้งที่พี่เล็ก (รัตนชัย สิงห์วังชา) ไปถูกจับแพ้ฟาวล์เพราะเตะก้านคอคู่ชกกลับมาจากฟิลิปปินส์ หลายๆ คนรุมด่าว่า ประณามพี่เล็กถึงขนาดไล่ให้แขวนนวมไปเลย แต่มีเพียงเสี่ยโก้คนเดียวเท่านั้นที่ออกมาปกป้องลูกน้อง ขอให้สังคมเห็นใจตัวนักมวย ยิ่งมันเป็นช่วงขาลงของพี่เล็กแล้วด้วย ถ้าเขาเลิกมวยตอนนี้ก็ไม่รู้จะไปทำมาหากินอะไร"

อุษณากร กล่าวด้วยสายตามุ่งมั่นเอาจริงอีกว่า "ทอร์เรสนั้น เขาก็เป็นแชมป์โลกที่เก่งคนหนึ่ง ถึงอายุจะ 29 ปีอยู่ในช่วงแกร่ง เท่าที่ดูเทปเขาเป็นมวยถนัดขวา แต่สูง 163 ซ.ม. เตี้ยกว่าเนร่วม 12 ซ.ม. สไตล์การชกเน้นหมัดชุดต่อยทีละ 3-4 หมัดแต่มักจะยืนขาตาย เนได้ พิศ พุดชื่น เทรนเนอร์คู่ใจช่วยแก้ทางมวยมาอย่างดี จึงมั่นใจว่าจะต้องเอาชนะน็อกเขาได้ไม่เกินยก 5 ขอเพียงแฟนๆ ชาวไทย ช่วยเป็นกำลังใจให้ด้วย เนจะต้องประกาศศักดิ์ศรีของคนไทยเอาเข็มขัดแชมป์โลกตัวจริงเส้นนี้กลับมาให้ ได้ คอยดูก็แล้วกัน"
