WIBA international flyweight champion Samson Tor Buamad of Thailand will be fighting in the lightweight in her next bout, while aiming to claim the WIBA title of that class as her third world title, says her promoter.

Promoter Durong Apollo said he is planning to have Samson challenge for the WIBA lightweight title in the event on August 26 in Suphanburi, Thailand.

Prior to winning the WIBA title, Samson first gained fame as an inmate boxer who fought her away out from jail by winning the WBC female light flyweight belt. According to the earlier reports, she and her former promoter had a high-profile row regarding the revenue sharing which resulted in her absentia from the ring and subsequent demotion to “champion emeritus” status by the WBC.

Several other female pugilists who are gym mates to Samson are also on their paths to bid for a world title. Hongfa Tor Buamad will challenge for a WIBA youth title in the Suphanburi event, while two other boxers, Pinfa and Pinmanee, will fight in the event but aim to challenge the titles at the end of this year.
