Rungruenglek Lukprabaht rises as a great boxer of sports correspondents, 2009. The committee made decisive vote after watching Piyanguenlan match. They considered Rungruenglek as the best record boxer and famous among boxing fans. He accepted criticism and was ready to correct his weak point. Rungrueng Lukprabaht’s father was grateful to the committee for his son’s reward and made a speech to thank Saenchai Sor Kingstar, for knocking Nong Oah Sit Or.

Boxing committee of sports correspondent association held the final meeting to select the best Thai boxer 2009 on the late night of 7 May at Nanglueng racecourse. This meeting was organized after Petchpiya match on Friday, 7th May at Lumpinee stage. All committees gathered, led by “Chartsai”, Somchart Charoenwatcharawit, president of boxing career association. It took about 10 minutes for decisive conclusion. They decided to give best boxer reward to Rungruenglek Lukprabaht, who performed excellently. When competitors, Nong Oah Sit Or, Palangpol Chuwattana, and Mongkolchai Petchsupapan, were defeated, Rungruenglek had better record than the others, win 7, draw 1,  and lose 1 in 9 matches, even if he could not win over Petchtawee Sor Kittichai.

The committee revealed that beside from Rungruenglek Lukprabaht’s best score, the most important thing is boxing fans’ popularity that granted Saraburi great boxer the reward. Rungruenglek had no notorious background. He won over fans’ hearts thoroughly. Although this style is not attractive, 2nd step 3rd step, his record and prominent point is good enough for this award. Congratulate for the best boxer of sports correspondent association.

After Rungruenglek was informed about the conclusion, he revealed that it was his extreme pleasure. This best boxer award is considered the highest point of boxing career. Recently, his name has been submitted every year but it failed. This time, he accepted that he has more chance than the last time when looking at his competitors. He is much more confident when Saenchai Sor Kingstar defeated Nong Oah Sit Or. He was confident to win over other three competitors. He knew about his weak point that is too much tactics and unattractive style. He is ready to correct this anyway. He thanks the committee for giving him this award.

“Lukprabaht” has continuous best boxers
Kingthong Lukprabaht, manager of Rungruenglek, revealed that he was very happy because Lukprabaht boxing camp is a long-lasting camp. After “Chai Kae”, Wutidet Lukprabaht received this award in 2007, only 2 years later, this honorable award belongs to “Chaoart”, Rungruenglek. This inspires the next generations of Lukprabaht boxing camp like Kaotam/Pornsawan. He will do his best to train and produce Lukprabaht boxers to boxing society. He was very happy to produce best boxers continuously.

คณะกรรมการคัดเลือกนักมวยไทยยอดเยี่ยมของสมาคมผู้สื่อข่าวกีฬาฯ ประจำปี 2552 ได้ประชุมรอบสุดท้ายเพื่อคัดเลือกผู้ได้รับรางวัลนักมวยไทยยอดเยี่ยม เมื่อกลางดึกวันศุกร์ที่ 7 พ.ค. ที่ผ่านมา ณ สนามม้านางเลิ้ง โดยการประชุมครั้งนี้นัดถกหลังเสร็จศึกเพชรปิยะ นัดวันศุกร์ที่ 7 พ.ค. ที่ลุมพินี ซึ่งคณะกรรมการคัดเลือกมากันพร้อมหน้า โดยมี "ชาติซ้าย" สมชาติ เจริญวัชรวิทย์ นายกสมาคมกีฬามวยอาชีพฯ เป็นประธาน  ซึ่งใช้เวลาประมาณ 10 นาที ทั้งหมดก็ลงความเห็นตรงกัน มอบรางวัลนักมวยยอดเยี่ยมให้กับ รุ่งเรืองเล็ก ลูกพระบาท ที่ฟอร์มดีที่สุด เมื่อคู่แข่งขันอย่าง น้องโอ๋ ศิษย์ อ., พลังพล ชูวัฒนะ และ มงคลชัย เพชรสุภาพรรณ แพ้ทั้งหมด แม้รุ่งเรืองเล็กจะไม่ชนะ ได้แค่เสมอกับ เพชรทวี ส.กิตติชัย แต่ก็มีสถิติเหนือกว่าคนอื่นๆ ด้วยสถิติ ชก 9 ครั้ง ชนะ 7 เสมอ 1 แพ้ 1
 
โดยคณะกรรมการคัดเลือกได้เผยว่า นอกจากสถิติของ รุ่งเรืองเล็ก ลูกพระบาท จะดีกว่าคนอื่นๆ แล้ว สิ่งสำคัญที่ทำให้ยอดมวยจากสระบุรีได้รางวัลคือ ความเชื่อถือของแฟนมวย เพราะรุ่งเรืองเล็กไม่เคยมีประวัติด่างพร้อย ขึ้นเวทีทุกครั้งมีคะแนนทดในใจจากแฟนๆ มวยตลอด ถึงแม้ว่าจะเป็นมวยไม่เสน่ห์ สไตล์จังหวะ 2 จังหวะ 3 ก็ตาม แต่ก็เชื่อว่าด้วยสถิติ และจุดเด่นคือความเชื่อถือ ดีพอที่จะได้รางวัล ต้องยินดีด้วยกับรางวัลนักมวยไทยยอดเยี่ยมของสมาคมผู้สื่อข่าวกีฬาฯ
"รุ่งเรืองเล็ก" ปลื้มพร้อมแก้จุดบอด

ด้านรุ่งเรืองเล็กหลังทราบผลการตัดสินได้เปิดเผยว่า เป็นความดีใจที่สุดในชีวิต รางวัลยอดมวยถือเป็นสุดยอดของการเป็นนักมวย ซึ่งในช่วงหลังตนมีชื่อเข้าชิงทุกปี แต่ต้องผิดหวังตลอด สำหรับรางวัลนี้เมื่อดูคู่แข่งขันแล้ว ยอมรับว่าตนนั้นมีโอกาสมากกว่าครั้งก่อนๆ และยิ่งมั่นใจ เมื่อทาง แสนชัย ส.คิงส์สตาร์ น็อก น้องโอ๋ ศิษย์ อ. ลงมา ซึ่ง 3 คนที่เหลืออยู่ เชื่อมั่นตัวเองมีภาษีดีกว่า โดยรู้ดีมาตลอดว่า ตนนั้นมีจุดบอดก็คือ แท็กติกมากเกินไป ชกไม่มีเสน่ห์ ซึ่งตนเองพร้อมที่จะแก้ไขจุดนี้ ขอบพระคุณคณะกรรมการที่มอบรางวัลนี้ให้กับตน

"ลูกพระบาท" มียอดมวยต่อเนื่อง
ขณะที่ กิ่งทอง ลูกพระบาท ผู้จัดการของรุ่งเรืองเล็ก เผยดีใจที่สุด เนื่องจากค่ายลูกพระบาทที่เป็นค่ายเก่าแก่ยังไม่มีวันสลาย หลังจากที่ปี 50 "เจ้าเก๋" วุฒิเดช ลูกพระบาท เคยได้รับรางวัลนี้มาแล้ว เว้นวรรคเพียงปีเดียว ปี 52 ก็เป็นทาง "เจ้าอาร์ท" รุ่งเรืองเล็ก ได้รับรางวัลอันทรงเกียรตินี้ เป็นการจุดประกายให้กับพวกรุ่นหลังๆ ของค่ายลูกพระบาท อย่าง เก้าแต้ม/พรสวรรค์ จะเค้นฝีมือการทำมวย ค่ายลูกพระบาท ปลุกปั้น และป้อนนักมวยสู่วงการ ดีใจเป็นอย่างมาที่ได้สร้างยอดมวยขึ้นมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง
