Talk of the town: The mystery of the Defeat of Pongsaklek Kratingdang Gym Pongsaklek (Thai - 29 yrs.), who just lost his champion belt in WBC Flyweight to Daisuke Naito on 18th July 2007 Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Referee: Toby Gibson Judge: Stephen Blea 113-116 Judge: Hubert Minn 113-115 Judge: Bruce McTavish 113-116 There are a lot of question and mystery about Pongsaklek as follow: - Why he had to take sleeping pill for 3? - Why his trainer “Payak Por Pimol” won’t go to Japan with boxer? - Why the trainer has to get eye-operate in this time? - Why the trainer didn’t postpone his eye-operation? - Did trainer give him the sleeping pill every fight? - Did he accept money for lost? After Pongsaklek back to Thailand, he confesses to Thai press that he doesn’t have any problem with weight or less training but the night before fight he took sleeping pills for 3 of them. He said , this is the normal thing that his trainer “Payak Por Pimol” always let him take ½ pill after weight-ins so he can sleep well all day long and has nothing to worry in his mind. But his trainer “Payak Por Pimol” didn’t go with him in Japan in this fight because of he has eye-operate schedule in Thailand so no-one can’t have the same of that kind sleeping pill. So Pongsaklek has to take the new kind, but he can’t sleep so he takes the 2nd and 3rd follow. There are a lot of Quesstion from Thai fans, Is this true? However, Mr. Wirat Wachiraratanawong (Promoter) said, Pongsaklek still have OPTION to get the belt back. We will plan the schedule for him to warm-up fight in September and after that we will ask for new challenge on King’s Birthday 5th December 2007 and we believe that he can make it this time.
