23-27 July 2007 Thonburi Prison open the sport days with Takrow, Patong, Muaythai and Amateur Boxing with more than 500 prisons participated to be the sportsmen.

Weight-ins report with Sanchai Sor Khamsing in Japan

Sanchai Sor Khamsing and thai boxer team with : Ratanadej Kietkhamphol, Dejdamrong Por. Terakul arrived Tokyo, Japan on Saturday morning 28 July 2007. The weather is approx 28-29 O’c and got pouring rain all day long.

On the 30 July: 15:00 hr. Weight-ins time.

Sanchai Sor Khamsing just finished the weight-ins with Mohammed Amadi (Iran) This fight they both have to fight at weight 143 lbs. but boxer weight-ins at:

Sanchai 140 lbs.

Mohamed Amadi 142 lbs.

Mohamed Amadi is taller than Sanchai a lots but Sanchai’s body is thicker.

Sanchai said to thai press that, “I will do it my best, and I don’t want to leave my repute here in Japan”

“Sai Nao” Promoter Wirat Wachiraratanawong said to Sanchai before left to Japan that “Don’t be worry in anything, just do it the best and I already plan the next fight in Lumpini, for the opponent I already had 2-3 in my mind and when sanchai finish this fight in Japan, I will let him know the good news.”

Between Tuk Too Nakorn vs. Jirasak Sith Jakung to challenge S1 Champion Belt.

The boxers are 130 kg. or almost 400 lbs.

All of us afraid that they will break the ring in everytime they move… ha ha ha

Sanchai Sor kingstar the Super Featherweight champion of Lumpini said to thai press that:

“The fighting in oversea, I feel different feeling because when I fight in aboard that mean I have to show the audience about Muaythai Martial art and I’m so proud of Muaythai.”

“I have fought in muaythai overseas 4 times, Japan 3 times and France 1 time and that make me know that the foreigners they love to see real muaythai and I also know that Muaythai is very popular”

“To fight in oversea it makes me proud, it wasn’t about the purse of money but I’m so proud that I can show them the real muaythai martial arts. Especially in Japan, I got warmly welcome from the audiences. They look at me like a Hero and they give me a crap every time when I show muaythai weapons , even I only Wai Kru they also pay attention to me.”

“it’ s very different from fighting in Thailand, if the muaythai fans who won in gamble only to come and say to me, but if they lost … I got another feeling”

“I talk like that but it doesn’t mean I don’t want to fight in Thailand… I still want to fight in Lumpini and Rajadamnern, of course. But the promoter can’t find the right opponent for me.”

“When it’s too difficult to fight the good opponent for me, it make me vacancy for 3-4 months and I have to earn for my family. My kid has to go to school and I have to pay for my car also.”

“When I get the contact to fight in oversea, I have to accept it and they pay me a lot also. In France I got 150,000 Baht. But in Japan I got 130,000 Baht , I’m ok for this purse because the promoter he help me a lot in the past”

“Fighting in overseen, someone think it’s easy for Thai Boxer ... But I don’t think so,

First one we tired from journey.

Second sometime we has problem with accommodation and foods.

Third when the host they cheer for their boxer, that guy can fight for his country and forget all of pains.“

“Muaythai boxers in the other country improve a lot, because they have famous muaythai trainer teach them, they may not good enough in muaythai weapons but if they get the cheering, it will make they got a lot of encourage to fight”

“I can’t careless the opponent even they are not as good as Muaythai like me but I have to prepare myself to be ready in everything as I fight in Thailand”

After left from OneSongchai Promotion by follow his boss-brother “Somrak Kamsing” and after that Sanchai left from Somrak and fight in “Petchyindee Promotion”

Nowadays, Sanchai is training in “13 Coins Rama 9” of Somchai Nitiwanakul , the owner of 13 Coins Hotels and Restaurants.

Sanchai Said, “ If I quit from Muaythai, I have a plan to have my own gym in his hometown Mahasarakham and named “ Sor Sanchai Gym”

“I just started my own gym alittle bit, but now I’m staying with K. Somchai because he is very good to me. He takes good care of me in everything. So I promise myself to help him to make his gym to be famous first. It makes take time for 3-4 years and after that I will go back and make my own gym in my hometown.”

Lumpini Stadium postpone fighting time earlier

Sae Kong “Major Wason Pungsampao” Chief of Public Relation of Lumpini announce to Thai press and Muaythai fans that Lumpini committee made the decision to change the fighting time earlier as follow:

New time: Tuesday: Start 18.15 hr.

Start with boxing 6 rounds + muaythai pre-time + all Muaythai in program

Friday: Start 18.00 hr.

Start with Army Amateur boxing 4 rounds (2 fights) + all Muaythai in program

In the past, we set boxing to fight first on Friday but fight last on Tuesday.

Now we think we should do it the same so we re-arrange the fight program and set the time earlier. Nothing deep reason more than this.

We hope this new change will make all muaythai audiences pleasure but will check the opinion from the muaythai fans also.

Start new time 3rd August 2007 onward.

SAT- support and push 4 Thai boxing Champions to World Challenge

According to Dr. Suwit Yodmanee – Minister of Tourism and Sport has the idea to increase Thai Champion in World Title.

24 July 2007 Mr. Kanokphan Julakasem – Author of Sport Authority of Thailand (SAT) accept Dr. Suwit’s idea and invited 2 promoters and consult about the pushing boxers to World Champion.

Sai Hui – Mr. Suchart Pisitwutthinan (Promoter of Nakorn Luang Promotion)

Sai Nao – Mr. Wirat Wachiraratanawong (Promoter of Petch Yindee Promotion)

Mr. Kanokphan said, we have the idea to push 4 Thai boxers to boxing world challenge on the same day to celebrate King’s Birthday 80th Anniversary.

The World Challenge may hold in the end of November or early of December at Indoor Stadium Huamak with 4 boxers from 3 promotions participated.

- Nakorn Luang Promotion (David Nakorn Luang Promotion)

- Petch Yindee Promotion (Pongsaklek + Oley Dong Krating Dang Gym)

- OneSongchai Promotion (Chonlathan Aor Piriyapinyo)

For the opponents of each boxer, it depends on each promoter to find the right one for them and each promotion has to contact and coordinate by themselves.

SAT will manage and support about TV Live Broadcast also.

SAT will cooperate and co-host with Boxing Profession Association only, which Mr. Somchart Chareonwatcharawit is a president.

Because SAT wish to avoid any advantage and sponsor competitor of each promotion which always has different and they are competitors to each other also.

Mr. Kanokphan also said, we would like to change to be new culture to watch boxing by buying the tickets because in the past each promotion has to wait for sponsors or personal supporter only.

So it’s so difficult and boxer has to wait for long time to have a chance to go to challenge in world title.

Muaythai scandal of helping Pondok school (Islamic school)

According to “Muaythai Charity for helping 3 southern provinces boder, which Gen. Prem Tinasulanon, President of Privacy was the chairman of promotion on that day, Rajadamnern 8 March 2007.

Recently, on 28 March 2007 Mr. Goran Vikakovik, the German Muaythai boxer send the letter to Rajadamnern Stadium to Gen. Prem Tinasulanon and cc. to Broad of muaythai organization, Gen. Pichit Kulavanij, Gen. Mongkol Ampornpisith, Gen. Chettha Thanajaro (WMC Muaythai chairman) and Dr. Suwit Yodmanee ( Minister of Tourism and sport).

Mr. Goran wrote that he got contacted by the organization committee of WMC to challenge in Heavyweight, even he is not sure in his qualifications in international level.

But still got confirm from the organization and told him that, no problem and just prepare to fight with offer 2,500 Euro plus 2 air tickets (roundtrip).

Mr. Goran also explains more, when he arrives in Thailand. The agent gave him only 2,000 USD. And 1 air ticket. Even he was very disappointed but he promises himself that will go to fight for this promotion.

When he was on the weight-ins, he found that his opponent is over than him for 11 kg.

Actually, his opponent has to go 1 upper weight division by muaythai rules but 2 of WMC committee members Mr. Branko and Mr. Patrick said to him no worry, it’s an easy just go out and footwork around the ring that’s all and come back to get money.

Mr. Goran said in the letter that he still confused and hardly to make the decision to figh, but they intimidate also and said if he leaves from the hotel and don’t go to fight, he won’t be able to fight in anywhere forever.

“I’m a boxer, I’m so ashamed for this thing and I would like to the organization to investigate everything to make Muaythai society clean in World Class, and I made my mind to tell everything to German press and embassy also.”

He also said that he known they invite Iranian Boxer to fight for this gala only 1 day before fight and give him 50,000 Baht purse but said to public for 300,000 Baht.

Mr. Goran requests the government to investigate 2 of WBC Muaythai committee members, Mr. Patrick Cusick (Secretary) and Mr. Branko Grimsic both who intimidate him.

He also said, he doesn’t mean to give damn or blame to anyone, the charity boxing is good one and he knows well that they spend a lot of money but very sorry for Thai Government and hope they can solve this dirty thing out from Muaythai and step forward to world class.
