Promoter Prawit Kongtongsamut’s bimonthly “Suek Jarumuang” event at Lumpini Stadium has been reliable and popular for muaythai fans. The stadium executives and his mentor promoter Chucharoen Rawee-aramwong, too, have been satisfied with Prawit’s event. So it was a surprise when a Suek Jarumuang event was missing from the Lumpini schedule. Prawit or “O-tue” is known to be content with his status in Thailand but he has recently started to expand his operations abroad. He went to England last month with his fighter Samsamut Kietkaochong who fought and lost to Liam Harrison there. The promoter completely forgot he was supposed to attend a meeting with the Lumpini executives for event allotments. Not seeing Prawit present among the promoters in the meeting, the Lumpini executives simply cancelled one of the Suek Jarumuang supposed allotments. Prawit reportedly went straight from the airport to the stadium once he arrived in Thailand to ask for the missing event to be reinstated. Luckily, his plea was granted.
