Pramook, Sukkatat granted fewer slots in upcoming Lumpini schedule

Promoters Pramook Rojchanatan and Police Lieutenant Colonel Sukkatat Pumpanmuang have received dwindling event slots in the upcoming Lumpini schedule, signaling the stadium’s dissatisfaction with the performance of the two promoters.

Although most Lumpini executives and associated promoters were present at the important meeting on August 15 on the allotment of the stadium time slots, three were missing. “Kamnan Kae” Pramook Rojchanatan, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sukkatat Pumpanmuang, and Banjong Boonsarakum assigned representatives to attend the meeting instead.

Pramook, who was in Khon Khaen to organize his world boxing event, was allocated fewer slots than the upcoming schedule. As a result of the losses of two weekday slots, he will only has a single Saturday slot left for his events.

The stadium is likely not satisfied with Pramook’s performance, and many speculate that it would not object at all if Pramook would simply quit from Lumpini. Some of his rival promoters may have already prepared to take over his allotment.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Sukkatat, too, was taken away of his Saturday slot as a result of the recent investigation into his event that found the promoter arranging for a trainer to fight in the ring for the fighter. The discontinuing of the Saturday event was seen as a punishment from the reportedly furious stadium chief.

The current chief of Lumpini Boxing Stadium Major General Tera Kripanon has been praised by the media as an effective stadium developer who continuously comes up with various initiatives.

Dubbed “Laem the Highway”, the major general has numerous difficult tasks, one of which is to supervise the competing promoters and weed out the ones with unsatisfactory performances.

At the present, promoter Wirat Wachirabanjong of the Petlumpini group, who is often known by his nick name “Sia Nao”, is considered to be the stadium’s favorite and is often granted large projects due to his extensive network of muaythai figures he could summon.

Wirat’s status with Major General Tera may have been fomented by their close relationship long before the latter became the stadium chief, causing the other promoters, including Sun Kietpet of the Ban Ponlamuangdee group, to be especially cautious and work hard on their events.
