The first encounter of WBA flyweight champion Denkaosan Kaovichit of Thailand and Japan’s boxing star Daiki Kameda ended with some hostile gestures.

The Denkaosan’s second WBA title defense against Kameda will be held at the Osaka Central Gymnasium in Osaka on October 6. The two boxers, who earlier passed medical examinations held separately in different cities, appeared together at the official press conference at the Bay Tower Osaka Hotel on October 5.

At noon, the two were weighed. The stockier Denkaosan was found be by 111.7 while the tall Japanese challenger was exactly 112. After the weigh-in, the Japanese journalists asked the two to shake hands and post for pictures, but Kameda reportedly acted aggressively and squeezed the Thai champion’s hand. The two appeared to wrestle each other for some time, while the Japanese reporters booed at them.

Siam Sport newspaper reported that Denkaosan was very upset by the incident and told the local media that Kameda’s act was disrespectful. Some Japanese media also criticized Kameda, saying the notorious pugilist has again disgraced their country.

ล่าสุดเมื่อ 5 ต.ค. ที่โรงแรมเบย์ ทาวเวอร์ โอซาก้า มีการแถลงข่าวอย่างเป็นทางการ โดยคณะผู้ท้าชิงชาวซามูไร ไดกิ คาเมดะ เดินทางมาถึงก่อนเพียงเล็กน้อย ในเวลา 11.00 น. ส่วนเด่นเก้าแสน พร้อม "แชแม้" นิวัฒน์ เหล่าสุวรรณวัฒน์ และทีมงานเดินทางไปถึงในเวลาไล่เลี่ยกัน จากนั้นเริ่มด้วยการแถลงข่าว มีการแนะนำตัว เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่ พร้อมชี้แจงกติกาการชก มีข้อสังเกตกรณีนักชกคนใดถูกต่อยร่วงจากเวที ห้ามเทรนเนอร์เข้าช่วยเหลือ มิฉะนั้นจะถูกปรับแพ้ฟาวล์ทันที

จากนั้นช่วงเวลา 12.00 น. จึงเป็นการชั่งน้ำหนักตัวอย่างเป็นทางการ ผล เด่นเก้าแสนเบากว่าพิกัด 112 ปอนด์ โดยชั่งได้ 111.7 ปอนด์ ขณะที่ไดกิผู้ท้าชิงในสภาพร่างกายสูงใหญ่ เห็นได้ชัด แต่รูปร่างและเอวบางกว่ามาก ชั่งได้ 112 ปอนด์ตามพิกัด จากนั้นสื่อมวลชนได้ขอให้ทั้งคู่จับมือกันตามธรรมเนียม เพื่อถ่ายภาพ ปรากฏคาเมดะยังคงแสดงกิริยาก้าวร้าว ด้วยการจงใจบีบมือแชมป์โลกชาวไทยอย่างแรง ซึ่งเจ้ามะก็บีบโต้ตอบ แต่ไดกิยังไม่ยอมรามือ ถึงกับเกร็งมือบีบอย่างแรงอีกครั้ง จนสื่อมวลชนญี่ปุ่นพากันโห่ใส่ จากนั้นทั้งคู่จึงแยกย้ายเดินทางกลับ
