Muaythai fighter Buakaw Por Pramuk has returned to his home country Thailand after beating Nieky "The Natural" Holtzken the K-1 bout in Japan earlier this week, while saying he is confident he could defeat his next opponent Andy Souwer and the eventual finalist which he expects to be Giorgio Petrosyan of Italy.

Two-time K-1 winner Buakaw defeated Dutch Holtzken by unanimous decision on July 13 to earn himself a spot in the round of four on October 26 in Japan. His next opponent will be Souwer, another Dutch fighter whom Buakaw fought twice in the 2005 and 2006 tournaments that resulted in a loss and a win respectively.

Upon arriving to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok in the afternoon of July 15, Buakaw said he is confident he could defeat the old-time rival Souwer as long as he has a good preparation. He also predicts that he would eventually fight in the final bout against Petrosyan, who is expected to beat Japan's Yuya Yamamota.

Buakaw said if he was cautious enough he would be able to claim the K-1 win for the third time, after which he would quit fighting in the series to allow other Thai fighters to rise.

His manager Pramuk Rojjanatan said if Buakaw won the tournament he would be rewarded with prize money of about seven million Baht. He also said Buakaw's fight may be broadcasted to Thailand by True Visions if the network was able to negotiate with the Japanese organizer.

เมื่อวันที่ 15 ก.ค. เวลา 15.30 น. ที่ท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ "แบล็ก โกลด์"บัวขาว ป.ประมุข ยอดมวยไทย พร้อม "กำนันแก๊"ประมุข โรจนตัณฑ์ ผจก. เดินทางกลับถึงเมืองไทยหลังเดินทางไปแข่งขันเค-วัน เวิร์ลด์ แม็กซ์ 2009 รอบ 8 คนสุดท้าย ที่นิปปอน บูโดคัง ที่นครโตเกียว สามารถเอาชนะคะแนนเนียกี้ โฮลต์ซ์เก้น คู่ชกจากฮอลแลนด์ อย่างขาดลอย ในกำหนด 3 ยก คว้าสิทธิ์เข้าไปแข่งขันรอบ 4 คนสุดท้าย ซึ่งจะมีขึ้นในวันที่ 26 ต.ค.ศกนี้ ที่ญี่ปุ่น

ทั้งนี้ ได้ให้สัมภาษณ์ว่า ผลการประกบคู่รอบรองซึ่งตนจะต้องพบกับแอนดี้ ซอเยอร์ คู่ปรับเก่าจากฮอลแลนด์ ที่เคยผลัดกันแพ้และชนะมาคนละครั้ง แต่ตนก็มั่นใจว่าน่าจะเอาชนะคู่ปรับรายนี้ได้ หากเตรียมแก้ทางมวยให้ดี ทั้งยังคิดว่าน่าจะได้เข้าไปชกในรอบชิงกับจิออร์จิโอ้ เปโตรเชียน นักชกอิตาลี ซึ่งคงจะปราบยูยะ ยามาโมโต้ นักชกเจ้าถิ่นลงได้ และหากไม่ประมาทน่าจะสามารถคว้าแชมป์เค-วันมาครองเป็นสมัยที่ 3 ซึ่งหากทำได้คงจะต้องปิดฉากเค-วัน เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้นักชกไทยคนอื่นบ้าง

ด้าน "กำนันแก๊"ประมุข โรจนตัณฑ์ ผจก.ส่วนตัว เผยหากบัวขาวคว้าแชมป์จะได้เงินรางวัลถึง 20 ล้านเยน ราวๆ 7 ล้านบาท ปัจจุบันบัวขาวนั้นได้รับการสนับสนุนจาก บ.สิงห์คอร์เปอเรชั่น ทั้งนี้ กำลังประสานกับทรูวิชั่นส์ อยากให้เจรจากับทางเค-วันของญี่ปุ่น เพื่อขอลิขสิทธิ์ถ่ายทอดสดกลับมาเมืองไทยให้ได้อีกด้วย
