Fahpetchnoi beats James Cocoh

WBC “interim” youth bantamweight champion Fahpetchnoi Kratingdaenggym (also Fahpetchnoi Sor Chitpattana) has defeated challenger James Cocoh of Indonesia by unanimous decision on December 3.

The win at Tatako, Nakorn Sawan, is the second time Fahpetchnoi has successfully defended his title. He was beating Cocoh from the first round onward but could not end the game with a knockout. After ten rounds, the Thai boxer won with the scores 98-92, 98-92, and 100-90.

His promoter, Wirat Wachirarattanawong, said Fahpetchnoi will defend his title for a couple more times before attempting to challenge the world title holder.

Pornsawan quits boxing after missing the world's belt

“Iron Man” Pornsawan Por Pramuk declared quitting boxing after losing by a sprit decision to “Look-Om” Oleydong Kratingdaeng Gym and missed the world’s belt. He chose to be a general person and helped his wife to do rice and curry business. Recently, he was very busy with his car which was stolen on the day before his fighting for the champion. 

Oleydong was shocked to hear that news and had much sympathy for Pornsawan. He asked the policemen to find the car back to Oleydong then went back to his hometown in Trang province to taking a long rest for two weeks and would go back to practice suddenly.

The 9th Thai blood match for defending WBC Straw weight world champion in the controlled fight between Oleydong Kratingdaeng Gym- the titleholder, and Pornsawan Por Pramuk-1st runner-up, in Pisanuloak province ended with the win of the titleholder who successfully kept his belt again.

David arrives in South Africa to fight Mbamba

David Nakornluang Promotion (Devid Lookmahanak) has arrived in South Africa for a title eliminator bout against Evans Mbamba of South Africa for the right to challenge WBC super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan.

The Thai boxer will fight Mbamba at the Carousel Casino in the city of Hammanskraal, Gauteng, South Africa, on December 5. David is currently the first-place contender, while South African Mbamba is ranked second.

The winner of the eliminator match will earn a spot in a match with the WBC super flyweight title holder Vic Darchinyan of Armenia.

David, his manager, and the staff members left Thailand in the morning of Tuesday December 2 despite the closedown of the Suvarnabhumi Airport of Bangkok by the anti-government protesters. He took a flight from an air force facility in Don Mueang to Singapore and flew to Johannesburg from there.

David postponed going to South Africa

About a playoff match for  a winner to challenge WBC super-flyweight belt between David Nakornlhuang and Evans Mbamba at Carousel Casino, Hammanskraal, Gauteng, South Africa, recently, Sia-Hui Suchat Pisitwuttinan, manager and promoter declared that they intended to travel in advance on 29 Nov. for their physical readiness. However, because the  airport was shut down so their schedule must be postponed to be in the early morning of 3 Dec. instead. He accepted that this postponement had effect on David and him heavily especially in adjusting  their physical readiness and  weighty control. If David could not control his weight, he would miss the chance. The physical readiness was also important because of the different time zone. Thus their hope discounted from 100% to be only 50 % .

Khaosai worries about home advantage for Denkaosan's match with Sakata

The home advantage of the opponent will be a big concern for Denkaosan Kratingdaenggym when he fights WBA flyweight champion Takefumi Sakata in Japan in December, says trainer Khaosai Galaxy.

Khaosai, a former champion who held a WBA title for eight years before retiring, was recruited by Denkaosan’s manager to become a trainer of the boxer for the bout with Sakata, scheduled on December 31 in Japan.

The boxing legend said Denkaosan is physically ready as he has been in an intensive training program that includes daily jogging of 10 kilometers and sparring with top fighters.

PBAT to host talk between Samson and Chuwong

The Professional Boxing Association of Thailand (PBAT) will host a talk between female light flyweight boxer Samson Sor Siriporn and promoter Chuwong “Eddie” Tumkit on their dispute and alleged loss of WBC title.

Promoter Naris Singwangcha will act as the mediator in the talk, which will also be joined by Narongwat Buamad, Samson’s manager.

The dispute of the Samson and her promoter became headlines when the fighter told the media that Chuwong withheld payments for her WBC title bouts as well as preventing her to fight in other matches.

WPMF matches planned on December 4

Professional Boxing Association of Thailand (PAT) has announced it would hold a muaythai event to honor His Majesty the King at Sanam Luang on December 4, 2008.

Seven World Professional Muaythai Federation (WPMF) matches, out of the total 25 planned for the event, will be broadcasted by Channel Five Network from 11.00 p.m. to 1.00 a.m. of the next day.

The first of the broadcasted bouts would be the fight of WPMF male light heavyweight title holder Ismael Gret of France and challenger Middy KB One Gym of Canada.

Pramuansak to fight Roy Doliguez

Pramuansak Kokiet Gym (Pramuansak Posuwan) will defend his WBO Asia-Pacific junior bantamweight title against Roy Doliguez of the Philippines on November 26 at Mukdahan, Thailand.

In addition to match against Doliguez, Pramuansak is scheduled to fight for a world title against Jose Lopez in Puerto Rico in late January, but only if he survived the bout with Doliguez.

Samson granted 'champion emeritus' by WBC, says Chuwong

The months-long rift of WBC female light flyweight champion Samson Sor Siriporn and her promoter Chuwong Tumkit takes a new twist as the promoter reveals message from the WBC chief appointing Samsan as a “champion emeritus” while her manager responds by threatening to file a lawsuit.

Chuwong, also known as promoter “Eddy”, has forwarded an email originally from WBC chief Jose Sulaiman to various media, showing the council has granted the “champion emeritus” title to Samson. The letter said Samson would be eligible to fight to reclaim the title anytime. The email was verified to be authentic by an assistant to WBC board member Edward Tangkaraja.

Conflict intensifies as Chuwong claims Samsan no longer holds WBC title

The conflict of WBC female light flyweight champion Samson Sor Siriporn and her promoter Chuwong “Eddy” Tumkit intensifies as the promoter claims the fighter was stripped off her title, while her trainer denies it.

The fighter told the media, in tears, that she has been abused and exploited by Chuwong, while her head trainer Narongwat Buamad, who is a WBC board member, denies Chuwong’s claim of the loss of the title and said he has inquired the WBC for confirmation of Samson’s status.

Narongwat said he and Samson have filed a complaint on the promoter’s behavior to the Boxing Commission on November 11. The two are looking to replace Chuwong with a new promoter.
