“Set Weep”, General Taweep Jantararoj revealed that he would not negotiate with AIBA because it has become a persecution waiting for the judgment of World Court. He claimed to clear all troubles in 5 months. He was also preparing a new replacer to carry on his work before leaving his position of the president of Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand. The squad of boxers was still training intensely. From this issue, “Coach Sam” affirmed that there was no impact to the boxers.
About the progress of amateur boxing team preparing for 16th Asian Games at Guangzhou, China, on 12-27 Nov., they are currently training hard at the Taruer camp in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

General Taweep Jantanaroj, the president of Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand revealed on television program, Rueng Den Yen Nee, broadcasted in the evening of 8 October regarding to the case that the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) has banned Thai amateur boxing team from joining Asian Games in Guangzhou. General Taweep revealed that this judgment was due to an election for AIBA president, which he applied for a candidate. The opponent wanted to get rid of the competitors.
Previously, general Taweep was punished by AIBA. It prohibited Set Weep, the president of Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand, from participating both domestic and foreign boxing activities for a year. The federation claimed that general Taweep criticize on the referee’s judgment in “Beijing Games 2008”. General Taweep brought the prosecution to the International Court of Justice for temporary protection order and then he was able to apply for a candidate competing for AIBA president position.

Pay $10,000 yearly. The association has selected sportsmen already.
G4S Company Thailand gives precedence to Thai sports society. It contributes amateur boxers of Thailand team $10,000 for each person per year. Moreover, it is willing to support association’s activities as requested in order to push Thai boxers toward the ultimate goal, “Olympic Games 2012”. The contract was extended according to sportsmen’s performance. The waistcoat boxing association sends “Chatchai Buddee and Aphichet Saensit”, competent boxes as the choice.

The 32th King's Cup international-style boxing match was organized at MCC Hall, The Mall Ngamwongwan, on 7th April. This championship match was opened by “Big Odd”, general Yutthasak Sasiprapha, the committee chairman of Olympic of Thailand. Thai boxers has entered 6 types of competitions and won all types as follows. Light flyweight (48 kg), Kaew Phongprayun (Thai A) won RSC Verachon Yodwichai (Thai B) in the second round. Flyweight (51 kg), Amnat Ruenreung from Thai A used beautiful boxing technique to defeat against Stephanof Seamen (Russia), with score 6-1. Bantamweight (54 kg), Chatchai Buddee (Thai A) defeated Donchai Tathi (Thai B) with score 3-0. Featherweight (57 kg), Thai boxers competed on each other. This is considered as a highlight match between Worapot Petchkum, silver medal boxer of Olympic 2004, “Athen Games”, returned to fight in team B after 2 years of suspension for his master degree study, versus Wuthichai Masuk, a rising star with 19 years old from Thai A, who won Asia competition in the last year. This match was powerful because “Set Taweep”, general Taweep Chantararoj, the president of amateur boxing association announced to assign the winner as a major boxer in Team A. In result, Worapot took advantage from his experience to defeat his junior with score 5-0. He obtained gold and successfully reclaim his national team A position. |

Thailand looks to defend winning streak in King's Cup |

Host nation Thailand is hoping to defend its 9-game winning streak against top competitors like South Korea, Russia and Turkmenistan in the 32nd King’s Cup amateur boxing tournament this April.
Thai amateur boxing chief General Taweep Jantararoj said South Korea, Russia and Turkmenistan will all send their top athletes to compete in the events in nine weight classes of the King’s Cup in Nonthaburi on April 2-7 this year.
Athletes from 7 out of 17 participating nations have arrived in Thailand, while the Thai two boxing squads are about to leave their training facility in Pakchong.
According to General Taweep, Thailand’s “Team A” will be consisted of Kaeo Pongprayoon in the 48-kilogram weight class, Amnat Ruenroeng in the 51 kilogram, Chatchai Butdee in the 54 kilogram, Wuttichai Masuk in the 57 kilogram, Sailom Adi in the 60 kilogram, Apichet Seansit in the 64 kilogram, and Oatchariya Haewsuno in the 69 kilogram, and Suriya Prasarthinpimai in the 75 kilogram.
