Thai boxing cycle is lively with there are many boxing matches in queue. Starting with the press conference last week. South Korea promoter announces the K-1 World Max , “Asia Tournament” with Thai playboy boxer, Sirimongkon Singmanassak will fight against Su Kwan Lee. The other six matches are not yet to be disclosed but Buakhao Por Pramuk will make a super fight Kim Jun of South Korea. Another two South Korean WBC and WBA champions will also join the tournament. The champion of this tournament will automatically qualify for K-1 tournament in Japan by mid this year. Former Lumpinee champion Wanpichit Sityodthong packed his stuff flying to Italy where he will be worked as a trainer for six months with the payment of 2,100 euros. He will later fly to England for another year training for the camp owner’s son. The payments make himself surprise as since he started his career as boxer, he never received such a huge amount. Manas Boonjamnong of Thailand kicked off his programme for the place in Olympic final well beating Jordanian by points. Manas's jabs and easily footworks were enough to handed Thai fighter a victory over boxer from Jordan. He will next meet boxer from Terkministan. He said he was quiet fit and confident to have his place in Beijing The other two Thai boxers Worapot Phetkhum and Angkarn Chompoopuang will see Uzbekistan and Iranian boxers. |

The Olympic Qualification first leg was finally started and became the highliht tournament for Thai fans to keep watching that the three boxers will possibly book their places for final in Beijing. As host nation, Thai boxers will recieve big supports for the fans but anything can happened. For the last boxer, Suriya Prasarthinpimai, who is not fit enough for this leg, will be participated in the second leg in Kazakhstan in March. It will be a tough job and he could not blamed anyone but himself if he fails to reach the final. There is six month countdown to Olympic 2008. Thai boxing amateur was Thailand's highest hope for gold medals but Thai athletes for weightlifting and Takwando also have big chances. None of Thai boxers succeed in challenging fightings last year. There are three - Pongsaklek Kratingdang Gym, Rattanachai Singwangcha and Terdsak Pooninsee Gym were all on the queue challenging for big champions in March. The registration for senator election was quietly but for the nomination process of senator was lively when at least three boxing people have been supported for the possition. The new government was almost in place but the name of people who will become next minister for sport and tourism still unclear. Even name of General Chetta Tanajaro early emerged to be the top candidate but until now anything can change and happened. |

Thailand withdrawn one of its boxer from the Olympic qualification leg one helds in Bangkok. The chairman of the Amateur Boxing Associaiton of Thailand, General Thaweep Chantaroj, said he had removed Suriya Prasarthinpimai from the first leg of Olympic qualification. He said Suriya was not fit enough for this tournament. Thaweep said he would consider replaced Suriya by Angkarn Chompoopeung if Angkarn can make his weight down to 75 kilogrammes. “The Olympic qualification is tough tournament, if no one fits, it is difficult to win,” Thaweep said. The association will reward 50,000 baht for Thai boxers who can reached final round which automatically qualify for Beijing Game. |

Promoter Priyakorn Rattanasubarn will arranged another big match in Thailand’s northeast province.

Well-known promoter Naris Singwangcha of Thailand has been nominated for senator position. Naris, the owner of Singwangcha promotion, has been nominated to the selection of Thai senator by Sitabutr Bamrung school’s union for the senator position. Thai voters will vote for 76 senators on 2 March while the other 74 senators will be selected from the nomination list. Naris said he was overwhelmed welcome that he has part of proud and honorably selection. He said with his long-time experiences in boxing, he expected he would bring the most benefit for the country. “I will seek boxing law and will promote and develop boxing as many as I can,” he said. Naris was the second boxing experts who has been nominated for the job. Orono Vor Phetphoon will lead the Thai boxers team to fight against foreigners next week. Orono will fight against Alex Cobra of France. Wanmario Kaewsamrit from Spain will defend his title against Rachayothin Nokornthongparkview, Brazilian Cosmo Kor Romsrithong against Carlos Mario of the Netherland. The fight will be held in central province of Supan Buri on 28 January. |

Thailand’s Kiertkririn Promotion starts its year announcing the defending IBF champion. Eakkarat Chaichotchung, Kiertkririn Promotion’s promoter, said his promotion will start the year by held “the super match against drugs” by organizing the defending fight by Fahsai Sakkririn, IBF Featherweight champion from Thailand, against Filipino Van Bantillan. The other will be the warm-up match between Fahsang Por Thawatchai and Ronald Postrano. The match will be held on 15 Febuary in Bangkok. Eakkarat said if Fahsai can prove his strength and beating Bantillan, his world ranking will be higher while Fahsang, Junior Featherweight first-ranked, will be challenge for the title if he defeated Postrano. |

Songchai Rattanasuban said he would not resign from promoter of Rajadamneun boxing stadium. The stadium has cut Songchai's boxing programme from five down to three programmes in the first quarter of 2008 while the reports said the cut may caused Thailand's big promoter quit his job. But Songchai lately give interview that he will not resign even there are many pressure and he was willing to organised the best matches for his boxing fans. He is confidents if he helds best programmes, the stadium will return his other programmes. |

Khaoklai Kannorasing started his year by defeating Kim Sanghun of South Korea in the latest tournament. Khaoklai sent Kim down to count on round two before sent jabs and hooks and easily win by points after three round in the F-G International Martial Arts Strongtest Rotating held in Seoul, South Korea. Another Thai boxers, Tor Patak Lookthapfah defeated American boxer while Banapot Sor Romyanont lost in first round. |
